Beyond Good Food: Creating Lasting Impact

November 4, 2025 | Don Pablo Bldg., Makati

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, Trans World Trading Co., Inc. (TWTCI), through the initiative of the IPD Food Group, successfully conducted a donation drive in support of Caritas Manila through the Segunda Mana program. Employees and tenants generously contributed clothes, bags, toys, books, and other essential items for families and communities in need.

We are especially grateful for the leadership and generosity of our owners, board members, and senior management, who not only supported the initiative but also personally led the donation efforts for Segunda Mana. Beyond organizational support, they shared meaningful contributions from their own homes, including well-loved toys, books, and other personal items; reflecting a genuine commitment to service and compassion.

The collected donations supported Segunda Mana’s mission and contributed to Caritas Manila scholars, as well as its various programs focused on education, livelihood, and community development.

To further extend assistance, the IPD Food Group also donated food products such as cocoa powder, chocolate chips, and food colors, helping create opportunities beyond immediate relief and contributing to sustainable livelihood initiatives.

On November 24, 2025, a follow up livelihood activity was successfully held at the KABAKA Foundation Multipurpose Hall in Tondo for beneficiaries of the Damayan Program under its Livelihood Initiative. Through a live livelihood demonstration led by Ms. Xandra Vergara, participants learned practical no-bake dessert recipes they could turn into income generating home-based businesses, especially during the high demand Christmas season.

The initiative embodied TWTCI’s belief that Good Food Starts with Trans World—not only through quality ingredients, but by sharing knowledge and skills that empower communities toward self-sufficiency. The demonstration highlighted how accessible ingredients and versatile baking products can serve as tools for entrepreneurship and sustainable livelihood.

Featured products were also made available at budget-friendly prices at Segunda Mana outlets. These items are part of the Segunda Mana program itself, meaning every purchase continues to help sustain support for Caritas Manila scholars and other community initiatives.

It was inspiring to see beneficiaries share their creations and experiences on social media, expressing how the program positively impacted their livelihood journey. The photo below highlight some of these heartfelt posts, real stories of resilience, growth, and renewed opportunity.

Through collective effort and meaningful partnership, TWTCI continues to go beyond good food—creating lasting impact in the communities it serves.
