Trans World Joins PMCP in Championing Sustainable Agriculture

Puerto Princesa City, Palawan – July 7–11, 2025

The Pest Management Council of the Philippines (PMCP) recently celebrated its 57th Anniversary and Annual Scientific Conference, bringing together pest management professionals, researchers, government agencies, industry stakeholders, and private sector partners. Themed “Strengthening Partnerships and Innovations in Pest Management: Towards a Sustainable and Food-Secure Philippines,” the event focused on the vital role of collaboration and innovation in addressing pest management challenges in Philippine agriculture.
Held from July 7 to 11 at the picturesque Princesa Garden Island Resort and Spa in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan, the conference featured a series of technical sessions, keynote presentations, and research exhibits highlighting the latest trends, technologies, and strategies in pest management.
Representing Trans World Trading Co., Inc., Mr. Genesis Vitor, Plantation Accounts Manager, participated in the event alongside partners from Tagum Agricultural Development Company, Incorporated (TADECO) – one of the largest banana plantations in the country. TADECO is known for its world-class operations in producing and exporting fresh Cavendish bananas to Japan, Korea, the Middle East, Hong Kong, China, and other Asian markets.

The conference served as an excellent opportunity to strengthen industry linkages, exchange scientific knowledge, and explore integrated pest management (IPM) strategies that support both productivity and sustainability.
The final day of the conference was dedicated to relaxation and camaraderie. Delegates, including the Trans World and TADECO teams, embarked on a Honda Bay island-hopping tour, taking in the natural beauty of Cowrie Island, Starfish Island, and the unique Luli Island. This refreshing escape highlighted the importance of work-life balance and fostering personal connections beyond the conference halls.

Trans World remains committed to supporting pest management initiatives that promote agricultural resilience and food security. The company extends their appreciation to PMCP for organizing yet another impactful conference and look forward to continued partnerships in advancing sustainable agriculture in the Philippines.
